A Multi-Genre Research Project By Piper Epstein
Dear Viewer,
Welcome to my MGRP! This is a website devoted to the concept of memory and how the process of remembering plays a key role in our lives. After sitting in the car trying to recall what I was just thinking about, which was of course brainstorming ideas for my Multi-genre project, it hit me; Memory. This topic has always been very interesting to me, and without knowing it, you probably are extremely affected by it as well. The people you see, the words you read, pictures, places, and your thoughts are so ingrained into your brain that remembering comes easy. But how do we really remember? Is it just that our human mind simply associates information with the past? Or are there more complex processes that go on when we don't know? Why is it that we sometimes remember some random information, when the things we purposely try to remember get lost throughout the day? What about deja vu, recalling lost info, or amnesia, forgetfulness? Why do we need memory? All of these were questions that sparked more and more interest for this project. I assume you are getting a bit confused thinking about them too. We will explore this broad range of topics, just barely scratching the surface of memory. We will be able to see how one of the brain's most important functions has an impact on our life, thoughts, and happiness. Hopefully you will be able gain some understanding about your own memory along the way. And maybe, just maybe, you might remember this project. Thanks, Piper Epstein |
